3D projection of the LuGre friction model adapted to varying normal forces

Abstract In this paper, we develop an adaptation of the LuGre friction model so as to allow development force and its application in any directions on systems subjected varying normal forces. This is achieved by projecting a modified adapted forces 3D along arbitrary orthogonal system. Consequently, direction automatically oriented correct direction, thus stick, stick-slip, slip behavior can be represented all directions. The projected has following features: presliding displacement, frictional lag, break-away force, viscous friction, Stribeck effect, equivalence with one proven analytically. then applied simulate two mechanical systems. first system consists cube sliding plane transition from stick due pulling multiples contact plane. second more complex consisting three turbine blades that uses damp their resonance. results obtained for both are consistent literature.
